PRICELINE PHARMACY A&B GRADE SINGLES TOURNAMENT

MAY 23, 24 2009

They say there’s no place for drugs in sport … but we’ll make an exceptioin for Priceline Pharmacy and their generous sponsorship of this tournament. Mind you the odd performance enhancing drug would be welcome in my case … my current prescription of sauvignon blanc and shiraz isn’t working.  It’s the only tounament we play where the field is split into handicaps below and above 45. This of course narrows the handicap range which many people enjoy. It also gives me, on a handicap of 44, the only chance to call myself an elite A grade athlete.

A Grade

Matthew Dunn 3 sets  Rob Jolly 2 sets Will Hoskin 1 set Doug Grant 0 set

Matt Dunn continues his fine run of form beating the two old stagers as well as the up and coming Will.

B Grade

Jenni Murphy 3 sets David Ward 2 sets Rod Unmack 1 set Rohan Bryan 0 set

Cora Trevarthen 2 sets Ian Chambers 1 set Liam Stringer 0 sets Andrew Reeves   0 sets

A good win for Jenni who dropped only seven games in her three wins. In the second round robin Andrew Reeves suffered an arm injury which unfortunately led to his withdrawal and a reduced number of sets played. Cora had however booked a comfortable win by this stage.

Congratulations Matt, Jenni and Cora
